I do believe many children will eventually "outgrow" their asthma since the
diameter of the midsize, small airways plays a factor on the severity of an
asthma exacerbation in a child v. an adult.  The way I explain the
"outgrowness" is that as an adult, your lungs has a higher tolerance for
reactivity secondary to a larger diameter of the airways whereas a child has
little room for error when bronchospam occurs.
