Here is an idea. Devote one corner of the office to a play area, and make a
theme. The obvious theme is to build a little doctor's exam room. Tell your
medical supplier to order you ten $9 stethoscopes, ten reflex hammers, and
an xray view box. The total for all those supplies is about $300. You will
have to cut the stethoscopes off to a length of 6 inches. Epoxy the ear tips
and bells on. It is interesting that parents don't seem view the doctors
instruments as dirty toys.
No a waiting room, but you should see Y2K Pediatrics,
http://www.y2kpeds.com - her exam rooms are all done in a theme. For the
boys, there is a baseball theme with the wallpaper being the stands, so the
patient is *on the field* - even the floor is astroturf. There is a
Hugs-not-drugs room for the adolescents and a *teets-for-tots* private
breast feeding area. The space-age room has glow-in-the-dark stars ...
The waiting room has a great play-gym area as well. What an office - the
model for all to see if you are about to renovate. This is the most
interesting office I've ever seen.
