I am very interested in the present discussion concerning the waiting rooms of the pediatricians. Indeed, we have just asked 80 French pediatricians as to the kind of equipment they have in their waiting rooms, such as the presence of messages of disease prevention and health education. We have also interrogated, in an anonymous way, the parents ( n=1800 ) frequenting these waiting rooms, in their opinion concerning the waiting room of their pediatrician, and what they remember of the messages displayed. This study has been presented at two congresses held by French Pediatricians and will be submitted for publication. I would be inerested to know whether American pediatricians' waiting rooms have - TV - Other equipment than books and toys for children and parents - Messages concerning disease prevention, advice in case of pathology ( fever, diarrhea, vaccinations, sun, tobacco.....) It would be interesting if American Pediatricians proceeded with the same kind of investigation. Perhaps, they already did ? Salutations to all.
