Re: pediatricians' children

A very enjoyable post Kim. Very poignant musings. Guilt is the most
pernicious ingredient to thought. Bruno Bettelheim wrote a wonderful
book called "The Good Enough Parent." You don't have to read the book
to be inspired by the title. Fortunately, the vast majority of parents
are "good enough," a few are less than good enough, and a few (the most
worrysome group to me) are "too good." Another wonderful book that
speaks to the issues raised is "The Children of Psychiatrist."
Acceptance is a much more powerful source of good than is censure.
Judge not is a difficult precept, but just as nescessary now as it was a
couple of thousand years ago. The converse of this precept is also
true, be not judged. If I lead my life as an effort to avoid the harsh
judgements of prigish fools then who am I?
