Funny-looking nails

I just saw a 2 month old with funny nails. Mom is HIV positive, so the baby was on Retrovir for 6 weeks. All HIV tests and cultures on the baby were negative, so Retrovir was stopped. No other problems. She is healthy, drinking well (formula--not nursing) and developing normally. Exam is otherwise normal. All her fingernails have a raised, irregular yellow band across the nail. Both great toes are similar, but it's closer to the tip. The other toes are normal. If it were one toe in an older kid, I'd say it's a fungus, but I really don't think it is in this 2 month old baby. Any ideas?
