The entire post was great. Most people I speak with think (if not so
cogently) this way, yet our entire system has been reorganized according
to "market forces." Dr. Inglefinger, when he was at the NEJM about 20
years ago, wrote a very prescient editorial about this whole idea. It
stinks (the idea, not the editorial). It is a scam. We been had.
Prior to the reorganization of medicine, in the wake of the Fletchner
Report (did I get the name right?) early in the last century, that
brought in licensing and regulated medical schools, etc., medicine was a
thieves carnival. Kind of like it is becoming now.
