It depends. If everyone in the family has something viral, I might be
more inclined to wait. I would also get CXR and I'm trying to remember
to get C reactive protein as that is supposed to be predicitive. I
would be more inclined to tap at this age than a one day old, BTW, as my
yield has been much higher (anecdotally) at the older age.

b.. Should one wait for CBC and/or UA to come back before considering
empirical Abx?
