The small town I live in doesn't have a pediatrician, but the big
majority of residents belong to one of three big HMO's (used to be
four, but two merged). There are FP's in town, but no peds. I'd love
to work closer to home, but it just doesn't seem possible.
It seems like it takes multiple docs to be able to afford a good office
manager. I guess if you're alone then you are your own office manager?
I'm scared of all the paperwork, myself.
