I also like Balmex and PinkSav (which is another zinc oxide preparation - don't know if it's national or only here in northeastern Ohio, though). I also tell parents to air dry as much as possible, discontinue wipes, keep diaper off 10-15 minutes after baby just voided (keeping boys face down - haha), frequent changes, etc. I like A&D or Desitin for prevention, but once a diaper rash occurs, Desitin is too hard to scrub off of irritated skin IMHO. -Diane -----Original Message----- From: [SMTP:] Sent: Thursday, July 17, 1997 12:34 AM To: Subject: Re: Diaper rash ointment In a message dated 97-07-17 00:19:53 EDT, (Dogwood Ridge) writes: > What's your favorite diaper rash ointment? When I joined this practice (16 years ago), I had never heard of it. From hearing the nurses talk to parents about it, I thought they must have stock in the company! I started using it, and have not recommended Desitin since then. Moshe Adler, MD
