For the last 10 years I have been prescibing ADCORTYL in OROBASE which
is available with doctor's presciption.
Corticosteroid: triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% oral paste. A 10 gram tube
costs £1.27 but our presciption charges are £5!!!
it is made by SQUIBB
apply 2-4 times a day
it looks like petroleum jelly but as soon as it hits saliva it goes
hard. Therefore application is tricky: you need the mouth dry and apply
it with a Q tip directly onto the area: it hardens and lasts for a few
hours. Relief is almost instantaneous (from personal experience).
c/i untreated oral infections
tb or viral lesions
s/p history of peptic ulcer or diabetes
PREGNANCY
avoid long term use in children!!
hope it's helpful
