I usually advise 4 to 6 ounces per day. Karo syrup works well for infants--I use it for any age--the light doesn't work, only the dark one. The way it was explained to me is that the light is more refined, thus removing a lot of the non-absorbable carbohydrate which is what makes it work. Moshe Adler, MD
