To reply to the group, use "" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of the things that I don't like about living in the country is that many of my subspecialty consultants are a couple of hours away and I sometimes have to do the post surgical care that usually falls under the purview of the surgeon. I don't remember learning about post-tonsillectomy care in residency. Is fever to be expected? If so, for how long? Depending on the ENT some children are put on antibiotics and some not. Is one way better than another? Some children will complain of earaches a week or so out with no evidence of OM. I chauk this up to healing. Is this right? Thanks. Kim Burlingham, MD
