To reply to the group, use "" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Normally fed (breastfed) babies may frequenly have a change in stool pattern. Usually, stools are frequent in the first week or so, but often between the ages of 1-2 months will slow down; they can go as long as a week between stools. When they do have a stool, it's a big one, and is the usual loose bowel movement. In a baby over a month, I don't worry at all about infrequent stools as long as the baby is growing and gaining weight well. The kids do get somewhat squirmy just before they have their bowel movements, so mom can often tell it's coming. Linda L. Shaw MD
