Give between a half ounce to two ounces once or twice a day, it will take care of all the constipated infants. > Do any of you use prune juice for the constipated infant. If so: > l) What strength do you mix? > 2) How much per day? > 3) What is the youngest age you have used it with? > 4) Dark vs. Light Karo or no Karo? > I use it for older kids, and occasionally for older infants--over 6 months. I usually advise 4 to 6 ounces per day. Karo syrup works well for infants--I use it for any age--the light doesn't work, only the dark one. The way it was explained to me is that the light is more refined, thus removing a lot of the non-absorbable carbohydrate which is what makes it work. Moshe Adler, MD
