[Heitsch, Grace] prepubertal kids need a bath 'when they look or smell dirty, in N WI sometimes that's once a week in winter. I tell parents to avoid soaps and use bath oil (a few drops of olive oil- the stuff you cook with works well and is relatively inexpensive and healthful (I tell parents of newborns to use olive oil rather than the mineral oil based baby oil that is available- also works to make nipples more resiliant in the nursing mom, can be used pre nataly) as toiletries go..... once they hit puberty, they need to bathe frequently with soap, just like adults. A problem I see often is little girsl who shower and don't ever clean/soak their privates. > 2. How warm should we keep the house? > So that the majority is comfortable. I really berlieve that a kid needs to feel like a useful member of a family if we want them to grow to be motivated and useful members of society. Yes, they need chores. > G> > -Diane, CNP > Please post your answers to these questions to the list.
