To reply to the group, use "" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We are currently evaluating and adjusting our telephone triage nurse ratio in our office. I would appreciate input as to: 1) Number of MD's in practice Karen - I'm SURE you meant how many HCP(health care providers)<G> We have 2 MDs and one NP at the present time (until we possibly merge offices). 2) Number of nurses assigned to phone triage each day Calls are received by the secretary, and the parent's name, child's name, and phone number where they can be reached at the call-back time is recorded & put on the list for the 2 nurses who call back between 11am-12:30pm and 4-5:30pm (this is flexible, but parents are informed on their 1st visit that this is the policy & to let the secretary know when they call if this is something urgent & can't wait until the regular times). 3) Background of phone personnel who actually give advice/triage (nurse, MA) Both are RNs. If/when we merge, the rest of the offices have LPNs. -Diane, CNP I anxiously await hearing from you! Karen M. Kohlruss RN BSN
