This actually brings up an unrelated but interesting question:

Can someone be over-vaccinated?

I recently saw a two year old who hadn't been to the office since she was ten months old. The family travelled a lot and the father said they hadn't seen a doctor or given her vaccines since they'd last seen me. I gave her a MMR and Varivax and about an hour later received a call from the mom (who hadn't been at the visit) saying the childe had received those vaccines in N.Y. at 15 months. I reassured her that, other than the pain and expense, no harm had been done.

But this kind of thing has happened before with other vaccines also.

So does anybody know if there is any potential harm in a child receiving an extra dose of any of the vaccines, especially if they're given close together?
