There was a Hep A "scare" involving strawberries served in a public school cafeteria a number of months back and a few families requested it after that. The vaccine seems to be so safe and effective that I don't have any problem giving it to a low risk child if requested, but I don't bring it up as a routine matter. I do offer it to families that do a lot of international travel (granted, a pretty small patient population) to high risk destinations. >OBTW, has any seen a vaccine that the AAP does not "love" and endorse?
