We learned something interesting yesterday, and perhaps you all already knew this. EMLA cream in the 30 gm tube does NOT come with any occlusive dressing (ie Tegaderm) to apply it. Only the 5 gm size (usually good for 2 applications if needed) comes with the dressings. Go figure...esp. since the parent will have to buy an additional box of dressings to use it and it is a necessary part of the application process. -- Karen M. Kohlruss RN BSN
