Wayne van Saun, MD Pyridoxine is a good thought, but don't neurologists depend on an abnormal continuous EEG to note a change when pyridoxine is given? This child's EEG was read as normal. I got a mini-update after speaking with the baby's nurse last week...they added Dilantin to her Phenobarbital and also added what she called "vitamins". Carnitine, etc, I presume. She was seizure-free for 24 hours at that point. She may be discharged this weekend and I'm hoping that I'll get a copy of the discharge summary. I'll keep you all posted. When I spoke with the resident last week, the top 2 thoughts were an inborn error of metabolism or infantile spasms. Eve H. Switzer, M.D.
