Good morning everyone, It would be inappropriate for Dale to post this, please allow me, for both of us and the general tone on the list of recent. ------ Let me take a moment of time to clear up A LOT of bad air and misread comments. This morning, Dale Dutcher called me quite upset over what has happened on the list over the last few days. Maybe you wouldn't know it from what went on, but Dale and I really get along just fine and have even sent each other sales leads when appropriate. Dale was upset for a few reasons, he couldn't understand how his friend (me) could think such bad things of him (I really should have known better) and he was upset that from the conversation, he had received over 150 hate-emails about the postings. Many of which had the tone of "why do you hate Dan so much" - and he doesn't. At first I said to Dale that I thought my posts were warranted - until we discussed what he was saying in his posts, or attempting to say and it didn't come out quite right. Late me explain just one of the comments so we all understand what he was saying, as the point is quite good: >and HIV negative (which you should be) I (and I know that a lot of you) read this as meaning "you should not be HIV positive as that is only for bad people" - and that is not what Dale meant. Dale was actually combining 2 point here, the comment "which you should be" was referring to a doctor practicing medicine, "a doctor practicing medicine *should be HIV negative*" Secondly he was referring to the case where a hacker changed your HIV status, not that you are HIV+, the hacker changed the record so it shows that you are HIV+. "and you should be" - was meant to mean that your record should reflect the accurate answer, "you are HIV- and your record *should* reflect that". The other comment that I reacted to was about computers spreading AIDS. His point there was reflecting on the mis-noted medical record where the hacker changed the status, not that the computer gave my cousins AIDS. If I am the only one on the list who misread his posts (which I actually did read, didn't just skim), I truly TRULY apologize to Dale for the roasting he is cooking through (I've had my share, they are no fun). But either way, the important part is that Dale had some good stuff to say, I for one just needed to be enlightened as to what that actually was. Now that I understand what he meant I no longer sit here in my chair thinking these awful thoughts about someone I've known now for a few years. Dale was upset enough that instead of just writing me, he called to clear the air. That says something for his character, and it says something about us not being sworn enemies. I just want to know if he called on my 800# :) PLEASE everyone, stop sending Dale hate mail, I've even stopped giving his email address to all the SPAMMERS (only kidding, they are down there with IRS :). I as a vendor on this learn LOTS that helps us with our product and feel I have lots to share as a 20yr computer software engineer. Dale is in the same boat, he learns, he shares. And I know for a fact that the 3 major vendors represented on this list, (us, Dale, and OF COURSE our host company PCC) do not accumulate return addresses and SPAM list members, we are all here to learn and share, the same reason most of you are. My apologies to Dale once again, you didn't deserve this. But when you are posting quotes from others, please be sure that it all makes sense in the context we are reading it :) My best, Danny
