We currently participate (limited) in the VFC program (Vaccines for Children), but have not signed up to give free vaccine to the UNDERinsured because of the potential nightmare with verifying insurance coverage or lack of it. 1) May I ask how many out there participate fully and also give it to those whose insurance does not cover vaccines 2) Since, oftentimes, many parents do not know if their insurance covers vaccines or not, how do YOU verify this BEFORE giving the vaccine to the child. Do you have the parent call member services from your office? We have to "promise" not to give it to any child whose insurance pays for the vaccine...how do you verify this, and what effect does it have on patient flow as this process occurs? Thank you!
