In response to the post regarding the woman with Paget's disease- It is indeed a type of breast cancer- more specifically Paget's Disease is a malignancy of the mammary ducts- the tumor can be ductal or invasive. Early signs are erythema of the nipple and areola, while late signs are cited as thickening, scaling anf erosion of the nipple and/or areola. My understanding is that it sometimes difficult to detect as the tumor may be located under the nipple and non palpable. Judy Dugas RN
