I cannot speak to the "yeast" issue, but my endocrinologist put me on a high protein, high fat, high cholesterol, VERY LOW carbocarbohydrate diet on May 19th. This is very similar to the Atkins diet, I think. I have had insulin resistant diabetes for at least five years. My blood sugars went to normal THE SAME DAY I went on the diet. I had to stop taking sulfonaurea oral hypoglycemic after about a week. My hemoglobin A1C went from 7.4 to 5.0 from May 19th to September 15th. My total cholesterol and my LDL cholesterol both went down 5%! I am VERY impressed. I can get an abnormal 1 hour post-prandial by taking a 30 gram of carbohydrate meal, but I don't do that any more. If anyone wants more info, write me privately. I've got a zillion Precision QID readings to document the difference it has made for me but 7.4 to 5.0 says it all.
