Funny there's been recent conversation about overkill, but no one responded to your comment about using Fungizome for oral candidiasis. I know its approved for treatment of thrush, but I have a hard time prescribing amphoterrible (even if it is in PO form) for such a mild infection. I guess those images of neutropenic children on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit suffering through rigors as we tried (often in vain) to treat their aspergillus infections, still haunts my thoughts. On a lighter note: Two scary observations from the late summer early fall rush of teenage well child visits. 1) Bell bottoms are back. 2) I actually think they look pretty cool. Eric M.
