Greetings, I am writing up a paper on well child exams, including screening, DDST, immunizations. With all of the components of the well child, effcient utilization of time is important. Where I've worked, a PHN did most of the screening components (checklists etc) and the MD/ Provider did the PE (checklists). The first 10 minutes was the intake & prep of child, 10 minutes PE, 10 minutes for immunization administration, packing up things and leaving the clinic. Alot of the developmental things were given to mom to take home as handouts etc. Any words of wisdom on expediting well child exams? Any handouts or best practices that you recommend? How long do you schedule for these appts.? Thanks, Janet Thurston CNM (FNP student) Fairbanks Alaska
