Liability in the Medical Practice
PCC, with guest presenter and expert Dr. Herschel Lessin, is offering an opportunity for you to join in a discussion on "Be Your Own Expert Witness" on Wednesday, August 8th at 12 - 1 p.m. This special Webinar presentation by pediatric malpractice litigation expert Dr. Lessin will focus on what to do if you are named in a malpractice lawsuit.
Dr. Lessin's similar course, "Liability in the Medical Practice" at this year's PCC Users' Conference was very well received by class participants. This Webinar will provide another opportunity to discuss timely practice issues such as this one with Dr. Lessin and your colleagues from all over the country.
Physicians are often told that being sued is a "cost of doing business." That may well be true. Unfortunately, you have to have a lawyer's perspective to truly believe it. This teleconference will be focused on how physicians should behave from the receipt of a records request to deposition and all the way through the case to trial appearance. It will also focus on the stages of the litigation process and, most importantly, on the steps you can take to assist your attorney in your own defense.
About the Instructor
Dr. Herschel Lessin
Dr. Herschel Lessin is a full-time pediatrician and medical director of one of the largest single specialty private practices in the country, The Children's Medical Group, PLLC. He has 25 years of experience in private pediatric practice, with over 20 years of experience as an expert witness for both the defense and plaintiff. As a "cost of doing business," he has even been named in a few malpractice suits ... all with an excellent resolution.
