I work for a small company called The Physician's Computer Company or PCC, as we like to call it! Located in Winooski, Vermont, we develop software for physician's offices around the country.
I am the Office Manager at PCC and I am responsible for a number of daily activities that keep me pretty busy! Among other things, I perform a lot of human resource functions (like answering benefits and policies questions for employees) and I also do a lot of work on the production of our annual Users' Conference.
As the middle child of three, I was raised in the small town of Orford, New Hampshire. New Hampshire borders Vermont to the east, and the two are separated only by the Connecticut River. Orford's claim to fame consists of 7 historic homes that are on the town common. The "Ridge Houses", or so they are called, are home to the rich (and sometimes the famous!)
Orford is but a dot on a map (and sometimes is not even shown!), but was a wonderful place to grow up. With its peace and tranquility, who wouldn't want to raise their family there!
For a glimpse at the school I attended, check out The Orford School System. Of course, the Orford School System has changed a lot in recent years. Orford is now home to the first K-12 interstate school district. The Rivendell School (as it is now called) consists of students from both New Hampshire and Vermont.
Now you might ask, how a girl from a small country town ended up here, near the "big city" of Burlington. Well, that is actually a very simple question. I was drawn here in my search for a college. And what did I find, but Champlain College, which would become my home for the next four years!
Champlain College truly did become my home away from home. I was there for four very short years and earned an Associates Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Graduation day was a very joyous day, but I was also sad to leave my college "family" behind.
Since leaving behind my hometown and graduating college, life has certainly changed a bit!
I spent most of my free time at home hanging out with my friends and family. For a glimpse of my family, check out these pages:
One on the last adventures we went on (prior to the arrival of our kids) was a weekend trip to Texas to see the Dallas Cowboys play their last game of the 2000 season. Highlights of our trip can be found here.
